Club member Alastair Cochrane's second AV workshop took place on Monday, 8th December.
Alastair had requested members take in their AV shows which they had made following the initial workshop and offered constructive comments where members could perhaps make improvements or alternative methods of presentation of slides, transitions, titles, etc.
The shows that were presented were all of a very high standard and diverse in their subject material and styles of presentation. As Alastair commented - time for a club AV competition!
One subject that arose was that of music copyright. It i simportant if sharing a presentation in the public domain that any music used does not infringe artists copyright. Alastair offered a method of licensing which he uses which is to take membership of the Film & Video Institute. They have a specific page on copyright legislation here and a clearance scheme which members of IAC can use here.
Steph Brown also indicated that copyright free music is available from Beckham Digital and can be used for AV presentations if included in their terms of distribution. Beckham's also sell tutorial videos on slide programs such as Pictures to Exe and image manipulation software such as Photoshop.
